Ingredients

Scale

Filling Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 cup ricotta (plant-based)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (natural flavoring)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (natural flavoring)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon natural gelling agent (optional)

Dough

  • 1 package pre-made crescent dough

Instructions

  1. Sauté the spinach and seasonings: Heat a splash of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic (natural flavoring) and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Toss in fresh spinach and cook until wilted, around 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of onion powder while stirring to combine evenly. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the ricotta filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the wilted spinach mixture with creamy ricotta (plant-based). If desired, stir in a small amount of natural gelling agent to help the filling hold together better. Mix gently but thoroughly until creamy and well incorporated.
  3. Roll out the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and gently press the perforations to seal them into one sheet. Using a knife or pizza cutter, divide the dough into 8 equal triangles for wrapping.
  4. Assemble the wraps: Place a generous spoonful of the spinach and ricotta filling on the wide end of each dough triangle. Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle towards the point to form a crescent wrap. Place the wraps on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
  5. Bake until golden: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the wraps for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Drain spinach well to remove excess moisture and prevent soggy filling.
  • Do not overstuff the wraps to ensure easy rolling and baking.
  • Preheat the oven fully for a golden, flaky crust on all wraps.
  • Use fresh ingredients like spinach and plant-based ricotta for best flavor.
  • Optionally, brush wraps lightly with olive oil before baking for extra sheen and crispness.
