Ingredients
Scale
Hamburger Steaks
- 1 lb ground beef (or plant-based beef alternative)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Creamy Dill Sauce
- 1 cup plant-based cream
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp natural gelling agent
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Finely chop the onion and garlic, wash and chop the fresh dill. Measure out the plant-based cream and other sauce ingredients for an organized cooking process.
- Form the hamburger steaks: In a bowl, combine ground beef with the minced onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat, then shape into evenly sized patties.
- Cook the hamburger steaks: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside, keeping the browned bits in the pan.
- Make the creamy dill sauce: In the same skillet, add the plant-based cream, fresh dill, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir gently and sprinkle in the natural gelling agent to thicken. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce is luscious and warm.
- Combine and serve: Return the cooked hamburger steaks to the skillet, spoon the creamy dill sauce over them, and let warm for another minute. Serve immediately to enjoy maximum flavor.
Notes
- Use fresh dill for best aroma and flavor.
- Mix meat gently to keep patties tender and juicy.
- Ensure patties are well-browned for depth of flavor.
- Simmer the sauce gently to prevent separation.
- Let patties rest a few minutes before serving to redistribute juices.
