Description

Classic Deviled Eggs with a creamy, flavorful filling featuring smoked turkey bacon and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce for a smoky, savory twist. Easy to prepare in under 30 minutes, these versatile appetizers are perfect for any occasion and deliver an impressive presentation with vibrant colors and delightful textures.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 6 large eggs

Filling

  • 3 slices smoked turkey bacon
  • 1/4 cup plant-based mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (natural)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped

Garnish

  • Smoked paprika (natural), for sprinkling
  • Extra fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Eggs: Gently place large eggs in a single layer in a pot and cover with cold water by an inch. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let them sit covered for 12 minutes. Once done, transfer eggs to an ice water bath for at least 5 minutes to cool and make peeling easier.
  2. Peel and Halve the Eggs: Carefully tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under cool running water. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks into a bowl, placing the whites on a plate.
  3. Prepare the Filling: Mash the yolks with a fork until crumbly. Add plant-based mayonnaise, Dijon mustard (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar (natural), salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the filling is smooth and creamy.
  4. Add Smoked Turkey Bacon and Chives: Finely chop the smoked turkey bacon and fresh chives. Fold them gently into the yolk mixture to distribute evenly without mashing the bacon too much, preserving its delightful texture.
  5. Fill the Egg Whites: Use a spoon or piping bag to fill the egg whites with the creamy yolk mixture. Aim for a generous portion that’s both visually appealing and satisfying to eat.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle each Deviled Egg with smoked paprika (natural) and a few extra chives for a pop of color and mild smokiness. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Stick to the 12-minute resting time after boiling for firm yolks that don’t develop a green rim.
  • Use an ice water bath to stop cooking and make peeling easy and mess-free.
  • Beat the yolk mixture until fully creamy to avoid any lumps for that dreamy texture.
  • Use a piping bag for neater and more attractive filling presentation.
  • Customize boldly with additional herbs, spices, or toppings to match your palate.
