A quick-to-prepare dish that is customizable for meat lovers or plant-based eaters, making it ideal for satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein & Main Fillings

  • 1 cup ground beef or plant-based mince
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning (natural)
  • 1 cup refried beans

Wrap & Crunch

  • 4 large flour tortillas (10 to 12 inches)
  • 4 crunchy tostada shells

Dairy & Creamy Layers

  • 1 cup plant-based cheese (plant-based), shredded
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (plant-based)

Fresh Vegetables

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced

Optional Flavor Enhancers

  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Thin slices of avocado for garnish
  • Vegan chipotle sauce (natural) for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef or plant-based mince. Add taco seasoning (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Cook until the mixture is fragrant and cooked through, then remove from heat.
  2. Warm the refried beans: In a small pan, gently warm the refried beans until creamy and spreadable to create a smooth layer inside the Crunchwrap.
  3. Assemble your Crunchwrap Supreme: Lay a large flour tortilla flat. Spoon warmed refried beans in the center, then layer with the savory meat mixture. Sprinkle plant-based cheese (plant-based) over the top, followed by a crunchy tostada shell. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and a dollop of sour cream (plant-based).
  4. Fold the edges: Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla towards the center creating pleats to encase the filling tightly. Keep it compact and neat for even cooking.
  5. Toast until golden and crispy: Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat. Place the Crunchwrap seam side down in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the tortilla is golden and crispy. Flip carefully and cook the other side for the same amount of time until perfectly crisp and the cheese is melted inside.

Notes

  • Keep the filling dry by draining cooked meat or plant-based mince well to avoid soggy tortillas.
  • Press gently when folding to maintain the shape without tearing the tortilla.
  • Use medium heat when toasting to ensure even crisping without burning.
  • Warm tortillas before folding for better flexibility and to prevent cracking.
  • Double the amount of plant-based cheese (plant-based) for a creamier, more indulgent bite.
