Description

Chicken Stir Fry is a quick, flavorful, and nutritious meal combining tender chicken with fresh, crisp vegetables and a savory, natural sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, this stir fry is perfect for busy weeknights and can be customized with various vegetables, proteins, and seasonings to suit your taste and dietary preferences.

Ingredients

Protein

  • Chicken breast, thinly sliced – 1 lb (450 g)

Vegetables

  • Broccoli florets – 2 cups
  • Red bell pepper, sliced – 1 medium
  • Carrots, julienne cut – 1 cup
  • Garlic cloves, minced – 3
  • Ginger root, freshly grated – 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions, sliced – 3

Sauce

  • Soy sauce (natural) – 3 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetarian Worcestershire sauce – 2 teaspoons
  • Natural gelling agent – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil – 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Start by cleaning and slicing your chicken into thin strips for faster cooking. Chop all your vegetables into bite-sized pieces and mince the garlic and ginger so they are ready to cook.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and cook them until golden and no longer pink inside, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and toss in the broccoli, carrots, and red bell pepper. Stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine and Sauce: Return the cooked chicken to the pan. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, and natural gelling agent. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables, stirring constantly to coat everything evenly and slightly thicken the mixture.
  5. Final Touches: Sprinkle sliced green onions on top and give the stir fry a final toss. Remove from heat and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Prepare all vegetables and chicken before cooking to ensure a smooth, fast cooking process.
  • Use high heat to get a nice sear on the chicken and keep vegetables crisp.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed for even cooking.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavor.
  • Add natural gelling agent slowly while stirring to avoid clumps and keep the sauce smooth.
