Description

Delight in these easy-to-make, plant-based Cake Pops that combine moist cake crumbs with creamy frosting and a smooth coating, perfect for any occasion. Customizable with various flavors and decorations, these bite-sized treats are mess-free, colorful, and ideal for celebrations or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake Pop Base

  • 2 cups moist cake crumbs (any plant-based flavor, finely crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup plant-based frosting

Coating and Setting

  • 1 cup plant-based chocolate or vanilla coating
  • 1 tsp natural gelling agent

Decorations

  • Natural sprinkles, crushed nuts, or dried fruit for garnish
  • Sturdy sticks for holding Cake Pops

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Base: Start by baking your favorite plant-based cake or use a store-bought moist cake. Once cooled, crumble the cake thoroughly into a large bowl until no large chunks remain to ensure an even texture.
  2. Mix with Frosting: Gradually add plant-based frosting to the cake crumbs, mixing with a spoon or hands until the mixture holds together when pressed but is not too sticky. This forms the Cake Pop base.
  3. Shape the Cake Pops: Roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls and arrange them on a parchment-lined tray. Gently insert a sturdy stick into each ball. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Prepare the Coating: Warm the plant-based coating gently until smooth. Stir in the natural gelling agent to help the coating set well around the Cake Pops.
  5. Dip and Decorate: Dip each chilled Cake Pop into the coating, fully covering it. Shake off excess coating and immediately decorate with sprinkles, nuts, or dried fruit. Place upright in a stand or styrofoam block to set completely.

Notes

  • Keep Cake Pops chilled before dipping to prevent cracking.
  • Warm coating just enough for smooth dipping without thinning too much.
  • Hold the stick firmly while dipping to avoid pressure on the Cake Pop surface.
  • Freeze dipped Cake Pops for 10 minutes for faster setting if desired.
  • Apply decorations quickly before the coating hardens for better adhesion.
