Description

The Watermelon Cucumber Cooler is a refreshing and hydrating drink that blends crisp cucumber, juicy watermelon, and zesty lime juice with fresh mint and optional natural sweeteners. Perfect for all seasons, this vibrant cooler is easy to prepare, customizable, and ideal as a natural, cooling beverage for gatherings or everyday enjoyment.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups ripe, seedless watermelon chunks
  • 1 medium crisp cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (natural)
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 cups cold water or sparkling water

Optional Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons natural sweetener (such as agave syrup (natural) or maple syrup (natural))
  • 1 teaspoon natural gelling agent

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Cut fresh watermelon into chunks and peel the cucumber before slicing it into smaller pieces. Wash and gently pat dry the mint leaves. Juice fresh limes to have all your ingredients ready for blending.
  2. Blend the Fruits: Place the watermelon, cucumber, lime juice, and a handful of mint leaves into a blender. Blend until smooth, ensuring the mixture is well combined for a harmonious flavor profile.
  3. Strain the Mixture (Optional): If you prefer a smoother cooler without pulp, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Use a spoon to press the pulp and extract every drop of juice.
  4. Add Water and Sweetener: Mix in cold water or sparkling water to your preferred consistency and stir in any natural sweetener if desired. At this stage, whisk in a natural gelling agent if you want a slightly textured cooler.
  5. Chill and Serve: Pour the cooler into glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish with extra mint leaves or thin cucumber slices. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.

Notes

  • Choose ripe watermelon for maximum sweetness and less need for added sweetener.
  • Keep all ingredients chilled before blending for an extra refreshing drink.
  • Use sparkling water for a festive, bubbly version of the cooler.
  • Bruise mint leaves lightly to release more aroma and flavor.
  • Prepare the blended base ahead and refrigerate; add water and ice just before serving to maintain freshness.
