Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Noodles
- 300g thinly sliced tender beef strips
- 200g fresh egg noodles or wheat noodles
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (natural)
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (natural)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- ¼ tsp natural gelling agent
Vegetables
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas or broccoli florets
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef and Vegetables: Slice the beef into thin strips for quick, even cooking. Chop the vegetables into bite-size, uniform pieces. Mince the garlic and grate the fresh ginger to build the base flavors.
- Make the Sticky Sauce (natural): In a bowl, combine vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), soy sauce (natural), honey or maple syrup (natural), apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a small amount of natural gelling agent. Mix well to create a glossy, sticky sauce.
- Cook the Noodles: Boil fresh noodles according to package instructions until just tender. Drain and set aside. Toss the noodles lightly with a drizzle of sesame oil to prevent sticking and add a nutty aroma.
- Stir-Fry Beef and Veggies: Heat a little sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Quickly sear the beef strips until browned but still tender, then remove from the pan. In the same pan, stir-fry the vegetables until crisp-tender.
- Combine and Toss Everything: Return the beef to the pan, pour in the sticky sauce (natural), then add the noodles. Toss everything together over heat until the noodles are fully coated with the sauce and the dish is heated through evenly.
Notes
- Use room temperature beef to ensure quick and tender cooking.
- Do not overcook noodles; keep them slightly firm to hold up in the sauce and with the beef.
- Taste and adjust the sauce balance before combining with noodles, tweaking sweetness or tang as preferred.
- Prep all ingredients ahead of time to speed up cooking and keep flavors fresh.
- Allow some sauce reduction after combining to develop the perfect sticky texture.
