Description

These Marshmallow Pops are an easy, fun, and plant-based treat perfect for all ages. Made with large fluffy marshmallows coated in flavored natural coatings and decorated with colorful natural sprinkles or sugars, they bring joy to any party or sweet craving. Customizable with various natural flavor extracts and vibrant colors, these pops offer a delightful texture and visual appeal, making them a perfect snack or dessert for celebrations or everyday treats.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • Large marshmallows
  • Natural gelling agent
  • Craft sticks or biodegradable lollipop sticks

Coating and Flavorings

  • Flavored extracts (natural) such as vanilla, almond, or fruit extracts
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Plant-based chocolate or candy melts (optional)
  • Colored sugar or natural sprinkles
  • Fruit zest (optional), e.g., lemon or orange zest

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace and Ingredients: Set up a clean surface lined with parchment paper or a nonstick mat. Gather your marshmallows, natural gelling agent, flavored extracts (natural), colored sugars or sprinkles, plant-based chocolate or candy melts if using, apple cider vinegar, fruit zest if desired, and sticks for easy assembly.
  2. Insert Sticks into Marshmallows: Carefully push a lollipop stick or craft stick into the center bottom of each large marshmallow to prepare them for dipping and decorating.
  3. Prepare the Flavored Coating: In a small bowl, combine your choice of natural flavored extracts with a small amount of apple cider vinegar. If using, gently melt the plant-based chocolate or candy melts to create a smooth coating for the marshmallows.
  4. Dip and Decorate: Dip each marshmallow pop into the flavored coating, allowing any excess to drip off gently. Immediately roll or sprinkle the coated pop with natural colored sugar or sprinkles. Optionally, dust with fruit zest to add a fresh citrus aroma.
  5. Let Them Set: Arrange the decorated marshmallow pops on the prepared parchment paper and allow the coating to set fully. Using the natural gelling agent, the coating will firm up in approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on room temperature.

Notes

  • Choose fresh marshmallows for the fluffiest and easiest-to-use base.
  • Use coatings at room temperature for smoother and more even coverage.
  • Apply toppings lightly to ensure the coating holds well without sliding off.
  • Work quickly after dipping to ensure toppings stick effectively before the coating sets.
  • Store marshmallow pops upright in a container with holes or on a stand to keep their shape and appearance.
