Description

This Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie offers a rich, gooey, and nutty dessert experience with a luscious plant-based filling. Combining decadent dark chocolate and crunchy toasted pecans on a flaky plant-based crust, it delivers a deeply satisfying sweet and nutty flavor perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust

  • Plant-Based Pie Crust, enough for one 9-inch pie

Filling

  • 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chunks (high-quality)
  • 1 1/2 cups Pecans, toasted
  • 3/4 cup Maple Syrup (natural)
  • 1 cup Coconut Cream
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon Natural Gelling Agent
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (natural)
  • Pinch of Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: Press your plant-based pie crust mixture evenly into a greased 9-inch pie dish. Chill in the refrigerator to firm up and ensure even baking while you prepare the filling.
  2. Toast the Pecans: Lightly toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant to enhance their crunch and flavor. Set aside.
  3. Make the Gooey Chocolate Filling: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the coconut cream, maple syrup (natural), brown sugar (natural), and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until sugars dissolve and mixture is warm but not boiling. Gradually add the dark chocolate chunks, stirring gently until melted and smooth.
  4. Incorporate Natural Gelling Agent and Flavorings: Sprinkle in the natural gelling agent and stir thoroughly until fully combined. Add vanilla extract (natural) and apple cider vinegar (natural), stirring to blend the flavors well.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Pour the warm chocolate filling over the chilled pie crust and spread evenly. Top generously with toasted pecans. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes or until the filling is set but still slightly soft in the center.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack, then chill in the refrigerator for a few hours to firm up the filling for clean slices.

Notes

  • Use Quality Dark Chocolate for a richer, more decadent pie.
  • Toast Nuts Just Before Use for superior crunch and flavor.
  • Do Not Overbake; remove when center is slightly jiggly for a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
  • Chill Thoroughly to make slicing easier and improve texture.
  • Use a Sharp Knife Warmed with Hot Water for perfect clean slices.
